Measure your existing pillows from stitched seam to stitched seam across the top and down one side to determine the size sham needed. Your existing pillows bought at retail stores will fit very snuggly into the sham. The shams are sewn in the envelope style. There are no buttons, zippers or snaps.
Remember when inserting the pillow into the sham, get the corners of the pillows into the corners of the sham as much as possible. Then shake it up a bit until it fits snuggly/evenly all around. Also make sure the inside flap on the open side is lying straight.
If you currently do not have a pillow that would fit any of these sizes, the pillow inserts can be purchased at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or Joann's. For an even fuller fit I would suggest getting an insert size larger than the sham, i.e. a 20 x 20 insert for an 18 x 18 sham.
